that bear long on that IWM test that I showed yesterday would
had had the perfect exit, great long from the lows and got out in
the nick of time
here's a look at IWM shorts - I simply replaced the SPY symbol
as IWM - these have not been optimized - but still they've done
well this year, lot of nice shorts from Stoch Short, DVDS, Hi Mid
Low, and QE 3
I'm very sorry guys - I completely missed this - that DVDS short
system took a 1st entry yesterday. Remember I had made some
modifications on that one and was using the new version going
forward. Also the DVDS system can take short trades at times on
down days, unlike most of the other systems that short on an up
day. anyway I apologize for missing this, would have been a good
one. I'll follow up and let you know when it exits, see upper right
system DVDS
SPY - we have the open long on Trend/Pullback 1st and 2nd entry,
DVDS short covered yesterday
- Strap long may take a 1st entry today, I've included the
stats here for you to look at
ES - We have the 1st and 2nd entry long for Trend/Pullback and
the DVDS short still open - no changes here DVDS still holding
- We still have that open breakout trade - it's looking to
stop out today - that said I may elect to hold with with a hard
stop
- Strap long is also looking at a 1st entry here
- SPY systems Longs -Trend/Pullback 2nd entry - SSO for trade
entry and 2 SPY Call options with 429 Strike and June 17th
expiration
- SPY systems Shorts - DVDS closing out - NICE TRADE
- ES systems Longs - Trend/Pullback 2nd entry
- ES systems shorts - DVDS still holding pat
One comment: the Trend/Pullback is susceptible at taking some
draw down. When both SPY and ES are doing the same exact trade, in
order to limit risk one could simply do one of them vs
both.
- SPY systems Longs - Strap is showing a potential long today
1st entry.
- SPY systems Shorts - DVDS is looking to close out its open
short
- ES systems Longs - Strap is showing a potential for 1st
entry long, and Trend/Pullback looking for a 2nd entry
- ES systems shorts - DVDS still holding pat
like I said, nothing new with the systems, I was hoping the DVDS
would have closed out today, it was meeting exit conditions when
the market was down.
currently we have the DVDS short on the SPY and the
Trend/Pullback Long (though we took some profits on the DVDS). And
on ES we have the Breakout Long, The Trend/Pullback Long, and the
DVDS short so we are more long than short, so quite the combination
of both longs and shorts sort of canceling one another out until
they start to close out.
I actually kind of like when you have both longs and shorts at
the same time as hedging one another, kind of neat
- existing DVDS short is still open both 1st and 2nd entry
though we sold 1/2 of the 2nd entry to lock in some profits
- New 1st entry long via the Trend/Pullback: 10K SPY
ETF and 1 SPY Call option with June 17th expiration and 434
strike
ES systems: - existing DVDS short still open, 1st entry only (not first
and 2nd like SPY)
- New 1st entry long via Trend/Pullback - will be for 1 MES
contract - not confirmed until after the 5 pm close for ES. ES
closes at 5 pm and reopens at 6 pm
Regarding the systems,
first off the open systems: SPY: (1st and 2nd entry DVDS
Short),
- ES: (1st entry DVDS Short and 1st Entry
Breakout Long)
The open short on the SPY and ES systems via the DVDS sub
system is not yet closing out. We did take off one of the put
options this morning, though in hindsight I should have waited
until later morning LOL. These systems should remain short, however
are probably getting close to closing out
The ES breakout system will be stopping out today at the close -
that said depending on how we close, I may elect to stay long with
a hard stop if I think the market is set to put in a bounce, in
order to get better exit prices
New Trades today
The Trend/Pullback sub system is looking to take a 1st entry
long on both SPY and ES
last night I looked more into this DVDS short settings , it's
pretty cool - it has 2 versions of the short entry, one that enters
when price is above the ATR indicator and one that enters when
price is below - both have different exit conditions because of
that. The one that enters when above the ATR is more aggressive at
taking profits, while the one that enters while above typically
occurs in downtrends and can hold the trade longer. clearly
this one entered above the ATR
exits involve various things from %R getting oversold, RSI
getting over sold, 60 Stochastic falling to a certain level,
normalized Stochastic getting to a certain level etc
Good morning everyone, as you may
know market futures are strongly down this morning. We also have
two open short positions from both the SPY and ES systems via the
DVDS short. The SPY system has a 1st and 2nd entry short while the
ES system has a 1st entry.
Outside of the systems I'm going to
go ahead and close 1/2 of the 2nd position for the SPY system
trade. For the 2nd entries we take two SPY Put options and SDS. I'm
taking off one of those Put options here in the morning to lock in
some profits. Again that's outside of the system, they are staying
put (pun not intended) for now. Another option would be to take off
the 1st entry positions and leave the 2nd entry positions on.
Anyway, do what fits your style and risk tolerance
So looks like we are going to have a combination of trades
here:
-
SPY Systems- The breakout stopped out today, and the DVDS
took a 1st entry short
-
ES systems- Looks like the Breakout is taking a 1st entry
long today. The DVDS is taking a 1st entry short, and that previous
open short trade is closing out

Regarding the systems, first off the open systems:

The open short on the SPY and ES systems via the DVDS sub system is not yet closing out. We did take off one of the put options this morning, though in hindsight I should have waited until later morning LOL. These systems should remain short, however are probably getting close to closing out

SPY and ES systems DVDS short - taking some off
Posted by matt on 6th of Apr 2022 at 09:17 am
Good morning everyone, as you may know market futures are strongly down this morning. We also have two open short positions from both the SPY and ES systems via the DVDS short. The SPY system has a 1st and 2nd entry short while the ES system has a 1st entry.
Outside of the systems I'm going to go ahead and close 1/2 of the 2nd position for the SPY system trade. For the 2nd entries we take two SPY Put options and SDS. I'm taking off one of those Put options here in the morning to lock in some profits. Again that's outside of the system, they are staying put (pun not intended) for now. Another option would be to take off the 1st entry positions and leave the 2nd entry positions on. Anyway, do what fits your style and risk tolerance

So looks like we are going to have a combination of trades here:
- SPY Systems- The breakout stopped out today, and the DVDS took a 1st entry short
- ES systems- Looks like the Breakout is taking a 1st entry long today. The DVDS is taking a 1st entry short, and that previous open short trade is closing out
