Opinion: Tradestation, too many bugs for a commercial product.
The thing gets its knickers in a twist far too often.
I imagine that users who want to use the custom screeners and
indicators are happy with Tradestation but the auto trading
platform has some real limitations, or if not limitations, it takes
some real effort to do many things which should be easier.

No doubt, TS is a very sophisticated program. I really
like it. I wish TS technical would spend some time on
platform stability issues. It seem like every time the data
feed glitches, the platform chokes and needs a restart.
I am running a lot of strategies and a reboot is a real
pain..........
one thing is, TS likes memory. A few months ago I replaced
my four-year-old computer and the new computer has 12GB RAM.
Have not had TS lock up or crash or run slow since then.

I totally agree. I have it installed on an intel quad
processor box with dual vid cards and all the hot
addons. I run nothing else on this serious box.
It still locks up on me at least once a day. When it is up it
is a very capable serious platform. But of course it just has
to bite it, sometimes more than one time / day..........

Of the versions of TS, I'm sticking to 8.5 v2289 as the
following version played up on me. But even with my new quad core
ram laden beast, it missed one of my system closes yesterday, so I
had to do it manually.

Side note: Tradestation does not utilize the capabilities of a quad processor.
