I have been on the phone most of the day setting up  Mechanical systems with BPT trading parameters at TDAmeritrade. This is to let any of you know that it is possible who might have accounts there. I'll let you know how it goes..............

If you have an account there and want to set up your own, call 800/228-8056 to get direct line to the Strategy Desk, you will find the links under trading tools then trading platform on the home page.

Also, they offered a $5 trading fee for accounts over 100K.

The folks there have been most helpful and patient.

Ditch, just saw your post.  How did the systems turn out.  I'm very interested as I trade with TD Ameritrade.  Would you mind sharing the systems from TD Ameritrade or would you rather that I call they directly.  Good luck and be glad to work with you on this.

    It will be much better

It will be much better if you call them yourself, all I know at this time is that it"appears" to be possible to set up the mechanical trading with TD A but there has not been a trigger since I set it up and I don't really know if or how well it will work.

Ditch, I assume you will be

    Ditch,

I assume you will be using Strategy Desk. WATCH OUT. The program is a minefield and can really bite you if you are not extreemly careful. DO NOT USE AUTOMATIC TRADING mode until you are very sure of your algorithms. If you have a problem with your code, the program can start trading in and out at high speed and locks you out while it is cycling. You have to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of the program.

There are tricks to prevent loops or slow them down. Due use the max number of trips setting and I even repeat it inside the code to be sure.

All in all, Strategy Desk is a very shiny piece of crap. It has great posibilities but it does not seem as though they are putting their top brains and priorities on it.

Good luck. Pass this on of you know others who will use TDA.

thanks for the alert regarding AT/automated trading, I take it you witnessed this first hand.  Have you worked out the bugs?  because I too was planning on ringing them up to set up algorithms.

I constantly have issues with Strategy desk sutting down as well. I'd agree that the top scientists are not on the Strategy desk team. They can't even tell me when Tick and Trin will be available.
