    Thanks for posting the ETF long term results article!  It really points out the hazards of swing trading them.

    Matt and Steve, with this early action and the financials looking so weak, are you throwing out scenario #1 and just thinking we go to test SP740 now? Sure daily stochs are on buy signals but weeklies nowhere near a buy and put -call shows complacency.

    Seems like a long term

    Seems like a long term paired short would be profitable if you can stomach the short term gyrations.  Look at how a paired short on DIG and DUG would have done last year.
    Somebody posted these numbers awhile back;

    Symbol 1/9/08 price 1/9/09 price    shares     cost     value today
    DIG     104.75          29.52           95              9951     2804
    DUG     37.5            24.16           266             9975     6427

    ETF Swing Trade

    Agreed!  A LONG-TERM pairs short of ultra ETFs seems like a sure thing. Any reason not to do this? Furthermore, there are some people lobbying to ban the ultra ETFs, which could benefit both sides of this trade for an added windfall. This looks like a no-brainer.
