Regarding Cathie Wood, she was aggressive buying and
holding and with strong conviction during the wave - she rode the
wave basically - and because of that everyone considered her a
genius. But in reality it was more about her having strong
conviction that happened to align with the 'wave' that was
happening at the time.
this happens a lot on Wallstreet - when someone get hot because
they got lucky and also were also super aggressive with their
holdings at the right time with strong conviction that produced
strong returns for that time period - the whiz kids etc. Again,
people can get 'hot' for a while, but key is, being consistent and
willing to adapt and most are not - they are hot for a time or that
time where their conviction was synergistic with the market trend
at the time - but if they do not adapt their strategy when things
change - then they were not some whiz kid wall street genius - they
were in the right place at the right time, they rode the wave and
their aggressive style synced with the market during that time
