I got on the waiting list last fall. But it really was a matter of  when the service would be made available to our area (southwestern Michigan). The service started in Canada, I believe, and they have been working their way south. (The satellite chain is to the north in the northern hemisphere and to the south in the southern hemisphere.) Once they told me it was available in late January, I placed my order immediately and received the equipment within about ten days. That was right when the temperatures plunged, so I have been in a holding pattern since then.
