I realize that this is not an exciting trade, but I have been slowly accumulating TBT, which rises as long term Treasury yields rise. I see it as an investment and a good hedge for my equity portfolio. Here is a multiyear chart.
TBT short term instrument, not designed to be a buy and hold (like most inverse ETF/ETN)
It will erode value over time even if you are right on yield direction
Compare YTD return (or any longer period) versus bond yield change
I am quite aware, but it is doing quite fine so far. I'll keep an eye on it. I may invest, and not trade, but I don't ignore.
