DCIX is controlled now by management with 3 guys owning over 50%
of the company and trades at a 60% discount to NAV (net asset
value). Q4 (current quarter) will be strong based upon
shipping rates. This reminds me of DRYS where the big guy
bought it out (stole it at that price). Too small for
institutions so must play the waiting game. The CEO took
shares at $1.05 and $0.904 in exchange for $21 million. They
would be smart to do a tender offer (similar to what they have done
with DSX numerous times) to take shares out of float at a discount
for those willing to sell. That in turn would increase the
NAV to even higher levels. They are now primarily a tanker
company as a result of the recent purchases and sales of container
ships - wise move with rates on tankers much better. The
bottom line is the Greeks (very greedy) hold the cards and
will be interesting to see the end game - my average price is below
the CEO so I will play the game with him.
