    Title: Trading ES

    Thanks for your ideas, cg9150!

Thanks for your ideas, cg9150! I agree that it's important to have a system, and perhaps your system is something to experiment with. To be honest, my own strategy has changed multiple times in the past year, and will be changing once again tomorrow morning. If anything, trading is one big experiment to see what works and what doesn't. And each person has to find something that works for them. For me, the strategies that Matt and Steve (and many of you, by your posts) teach on this site are the ones that I've found work better than the many many many things I've tried and failed at. Sometimes I wish I would have not bothered experimenting with my own stuff and just gone with what's been recommended here. But then again, I've learned so much from my failures and experiments that I think it'll make me a much better trader in the end. For now, pullbacks with triggers within established trends seems to work great.

    I forgot to mention that

I forgot to mention that I do not trade the first 30 to 45 minutes and last 30 minutes of the day.  The market needs to settle out.  With this system, if there is a losing trade, it often occurs with the first contra bar against the beginning of the trend.  If a trend is just starting, say 4 or 5 bars, watch out for the first pull back against the trend.  It is often shallow and won't meet the 3 tic target.  Thanks
