i have to say this is more than an interest rate thing....there
is some news out there that we dont know about....maybe its war
maybe its mueller maybe its a black swan....my two cents....
Morton - that's possible and the market could be sniffing it out
something rotten but Sentiment was off the charts for the bulls and
after a semi parabolic move up this is what can happen with the
stock indexes. There is now a setup in place to reverse (but
must have a trigger to set a valid stop). Many pundits are
searching for a reason for the decline and they forgot to look at
what transpired PRIOR to this selloff. I hate all the
synthetic products these firms have introduced (like XIV) as they
always tend to blow up at some time (remember the gurus at Long
Term Capital?) and we have seen many bubbles created with
rampant monetary policy worldwide and sooner or later the air must
be let out of the balloon. Absent of a systemic hidden risk,
the market can recover and at least provide a re-test of highs over
time. I simply take things one day at a time after nearly 9
years of a market run. Respect the prevailing trend until
evidence changes.
s I mentioned before from what I understand there was a huge
position short vol. My sense is that the unwind will have
bigger ramifications in this world of Immense leveraging and
interconnectivity of all these institutions....
