When do commercial banks ever criticize their lifeblood central banks?

    yep, what's amazing to me

yep, what's amazing to me is that China longs to be the most important and dominant economic player in the world and to a certain extent they've achieved a lot of this, but their biggest problem is things like this: actively manipulating their stock market, opening saying they are buying it and will lend money to buy it.  I've read that China wants more foreign investment into it's markets, but when people see things like this, it has the exactly opposite effect, as it gives the sense that it's all rigged etc.  And of course don't get me all started with how much they control their internet and worry about anything negative someone says about their gov over there

On the same subject as Matt talked about investing in the Chinese mkt ...

" Investors throughout China are waiting for the government to step in and buy more stocks so they can close out their positions, but many are losing hope."

"But after sinking his entire life savings $164,000 and his relatives' money into shares of a local mining company, he lost everything. Not only that, but Yang's brokerage convinced him to borrow more than $1 million to buy stocks on margin. He now owes roughly what he originally invested after liquidating his portfolio."

The Market dynamics and sentiment will be screwed for awhile there ...
