I have listened to many gold "experts" who have said that when the market falls, gold miners will hold up because of their correlation to the price of gold.  However. . . not only has gold had a major correction (calling into question part of their thesis) but even when gold held up early on in late July, the gold miners nevertheless crashed like all other stocks.  I think if the market craps out for its bottom (1050 or below) gold miners will fall with everything else.  Then will be the time of truth.  Will they start their dramatic rise, or not?  Time will tell. For now, I would wait to see what the market does.  Let it fall if it will, and then you can pick up the gold pieces.  IMHO
