Last night I happened to watch ABC world news with Diane Saywer,
she seemed totally amazed when she read these words reguarding how
far China has come so fast.
"Across the country, China is spending $100 billion on
infrastructure, twice the amount President Obama has requested in the United
States. The Shanghai skyline, with its towering skyscrapers, was
built in record time, just two decades. Large projects, like a
sixteen-lane bridge, are completed
in the time
it takes just to acquire the building permits in the
U.S.Just last week, 200 workers built a 15-story hotel in
six days, using prefabricated pieces that snapped together like
Lego building blocks. "
ditch, you're a much better trader than I, but comparing us to
China is apples to oranges.
China is a dictatorship, so the gov can do what it wants, when
it wants w/o any input from its citizens. I don't think any of us
want that here so we have a messier process.
To say gov is the problem is an over simplication. Our gov isn't
going to go away or get out of the way. We must get the gov to be
responsive to the people instead of the special interests.
They may be a big part of the problem, but they are also going
to have to be a part of the solution. I don't see an alternative.
But a demand economy, like China is not the way to go. Look what
happened w/ the Russians when they thought gov was the answer to
their problems.
You are right. Look what happened to Russia when they thought
Government was the answer! Yes, we need government but
ours has gotten out of control and has become A problem. and Yes,
you are right the special interest running this country and
they have for a long time. But there is a current chance that
we see a reversal in this and we should all talk to our
representatives and encourage them to be independent and true to
the people who sent them to Washington and not to the lobbist on K
street. But enough political views here on BPT . Sorry I
started this.
