i have met larry a few times and he is a nice guy. however
putting that aside, as i would say for any analysis, trade calls or
the like the answer is to backtest. so dig up all of his calls or
as many as you can and see how he called it. for info, he called a
top for around june or july last year.......ie a top in june or
july 09. not quite right1
Amazing what google turns up about people. He might
be a crook, but his astro dates seem to have some
success. Did Madoff actually know what he was doing or
talking about or was he total bs?
I've listened to that radio show for years and I pay attention
to what Larry says for sure. He is slanted very bearish, but
his track record for the huge moves is pretty good. Yes, he
has issued some false warnings -- during the bull rally of the last
14 months. To his credit, he was short during Oct 08 (and
stayed short), and went VERY long the market near the bottom
(actually called the bottom within two days, with conviction, so
certainly not a perma-bear). He uses astro-harmonics (not
sure how much Matt and Steve use this). I tried a trial of
his newsletter -- pretty awful (makes you appreciate how much
effort Matt and Steve put into BPT), he knows his stuff, but his
charts are unreadable and he assumes you know all of his patterns
(Gartleys etc.). Larry's prediction fits in very nicely
with Steve's 5 day retrace pattern followed by a violent 3 of
3.
Any opinions on this guy...
