I have been trading for 10 years and I have held physical gold
and it has been very profitable. I have occasionally sold and
re-bought (very rarely). However I avoid gold stocks like the
plaque! Gold bugs are wimps when it comes to holding gold stocks
IMO. They panic and dump at the slightest reason. Far too much
volatility for me. FWIW
Over the last couple months the SPX has found support at the
1430ish mark 3 times. Any significance in TA for a "triple bottom"?
If so what would it mean? Thanks! 60 minute chart shows it
well.
It’s worth noting that this week’s AAII investor sentiment survey
reported decisively more bearish investors than bullish investors.
The latest reading came in at 31% bullish versus 39% bearish, a
major improvement over the last several weeks and the first time
since Aug. 1 that there was a net bearish reading in the survey.
From a contrarian standpoint this shows that investors are in the
process of capitulating. A bearish reading of 42% or greater would
suffice to put the bottom on the broad market decline, which could
occur late next week when the next AAII poll is released. Clif

All the consolidation at support on the SPX, a very successful
Spanish bond market (fully subscribed at all maturities), a winning
performance for Romney in debate, ECB holds rates steady all are
bullish. Shorts BEWARE!
I get his news letter. He's pretty good but his recommendations
tend to be Thai REITs. Singapore equities etc and who wants to
trade that stuff. And making a call that we will have a 20%
pullback sometime in the next 6 months doesn't take a genius. Does
that mean sit on your hands till the big pullback comes?
Again....his stuff is not executionable like BreakPoint Trades. I
am convinced that BPTs is really all you need as long as you don't
drink the Bear Kool aid of some members :) . "You have to
openminded" as Steve is always saying.
