I get the feeling that most people view this as an "ordinary
correction" and not something that could be like the 2000 or
2008 bear markets. If we are going into one of those, then
the real pain hasn't even started!

The question I have a hard time answering is what do you do in a
401k that lacks choice beyond index funds and you expect indexes to
post small/no gains as described in the article?
