No daily DVTs left standing.........

I guess the SPY trade

Posted by Ray on 11th of Jan 2022 at 04:04 pm

I guess the SPY trade didn't exit today; but, close enough for me.  The price, 8ema and 9ema are all there within a point.  With BLS tomorrow, I can always get back in lower......

Matt, I have been following your wave count on the 5 minute chart you issued this morning with Stockcharts set on 15 second refresh rate.  Although I would never have the guts to trade a 5 minute chart, it is amazing how the market ($SPX) is following your projections.  Sort of mesmerizing.........

Exactly what I was thinking!

Wild day.... QQQ came within

Posted by Ray on 5th of Jan 2022 at 04:06 pm

Wild day.... QQQ came within one point of hitting the 1 day KISS Stop of 383.  A little surprised that the SPX KISS stop (1 day) hasn't moved up from the 4495 over the past month or so; but, it is what it is.  Still a ways to go before hitting it.

Entered AAZZF, RAFA and GRYN all about the same time (mid summer).  Sold half of my position in AAZZF yesterday for a tidy profit.  Hoping my patience will pay off, as well, on RAFA and GRYN.

I sure would like to believe that double bottom IS the bottom!

Great News!!  Now, if RAFA could do the same!

Thanks, Matt.  Just wanted to see how the DVT would react in a really volatile market.  Sure, we wouldn't make a lot; but, more importantly, we would not have lost a lot using the DVT.  Looking forward to being able to lease this signal, as it would improve profitability; even if it just kept me out of the market.

Hey Matt, Could you run

Hey Matt, Could you run the DVT stops (didn't want to call it the KISS System, as you have pointed out, it is not to system status yet), for ARKK for 2021, on a daily basis?  I don't know if you need to input a buy after each stop; but, if so, use a simple 60 Sto crossing above 50.  I think this would be interesting, given that it is a lot more volatile than the indexes or AAPL (which is almost index status)

Depending on trading style, and personal goals, a simple system like this would keep you on the sidelines during crazy market times like this.  When positive, then applying  great patterns, like falling wedges, coils, etc., together with a higher low stop, would improve "my" success rate.  I am not a day-trader, nor do I need to trade for a living, or even retirement; so, it works for me!

Nice - love it!  Thanks!

Thanks for the info Steve.

IPO Data

Posted by Ray on 6th of Dec 2021 at 05:18 pm

Thanks for the info Steve.  I am very leery of IPO's.  I sort of put them into the "buy on rumor, sell on news" category; or, maybe "holding into earnings" category.  Really a crap shoot, even if the company makes sense.

Got it!  Thanks, Matt.

Matt, I noted the symmetry break on the 15 minute chart.  This would indicate a higher low ahead; but, still a lower level.  Going back long on the KISS system now would be accepting a lower high ahead (although there could be a lot of upside before the higher low kicks in).  I would have thought the KISS System would have wanted to try to enter during a pullback (toward the higher low).  Just trying to understand the systems.

Yes, I treat the system trades differently.  I take the SPY options on the SPY System, and use 2x or 3x SPY (QQQ and/or IWM) instruments to be stopped out using daily DVT's for the KISS System.

Went ahead and closed out

Posted by Ray on 6th of Dec 2021 at 01:53 pm

Went ahead and closed out my SPY trade (only took second entry), at SPX of 4610.  It is trading over the 8 sma and 9ema (both, I think, are approximate levels for the System exit at end of day).  It could still go to the moon from here; but, I have been burned one too many times by trying to squeeze out the last penny.

Must have been the same
