Once upon a time,
a Princess asked a handsome Prince "Will you marry me?"
The Prince said "NO!"
And the Princess lived happily ever after and rode
motorcycles
and went fishing and hunting and played golf
and dated men half her age and drank beer and scotch
and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat
down .
The end
I guess he forgot where he was to "create" the
jobs.
General
Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from
Waukesha, Wis., to Beijing. In addition to moving the headquarters,
the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65
engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that
made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no
taxes-the same company that employs more people overseas than it
does in the United States.
So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE
Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job
czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs.
I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he
was supposed to be creating those jobs.
If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this
President, I don't know what does.
Saudi Arabia's stock exchange was shut Thursday-Friday as stock
markets around the world slid, but opened on Saturday, the first
day of the Saudi working week. The exchange, the biggest in the
Arab world, is the first big bourse to react to the news that the
US sovereign rating has been downgraded by S&P.
Pex is simply better. Why a limit on 7.00 a lb.? If so much
better, price should be no problem. For electrical wiring copper
wins hands down over aluminum, but that's a different story. The
arguments on pex vs copper are the same tired ones previously made
for cast iron vs pvc or abs. Pex has so many advantages and will
last longer for radiant or potable water use. Bury a piece of
copper and a piece of pex; dig them out years later and tell me
copper for piping is better. The only known problems with pex has
been some of the cast Metal fittings that failed, not the pex
tubing. Pex also carries the stigma of previous failed plastic
water systems, again with failed fittings. Another problem with
copper is Who makes the finished products. Oldtimer, I may be as
old or older than you, but Thinking Young is not the wrong thing to
do.
