600% gain on the DE Aug 78 Call -- If you're willing to go
through the many losses involved in trading earnings, one such gain
makes up for many of these losses. Use a charitable account
or total play money for this kind of trading...

If October 4th was indeed the bottom, and that was the day we
reached a 20% decline, for about 45 minutes, which is the usual
definition of a bear market, this one would truly be the shortest
bear market in the history of the market :-)

Has anyone of you heard of Wealth Masters International and Kip
Herriage? Just sheer curiosity - Just the fact that they are
an MLM automatically makes me think of them as a total scam, but
please let me know how good / bad they are. Thanks

Hi All, I do not often post as I have a day job, but I
wanted to take the time to wish you all a very Happy and prosperous
New Year. Big thanks to Steve and Matt for a great job in
keeping us on track.
Would you please be able to incorporate, more often, the longer
term outlook with EW projections. This seems to be the
beginning of a fifth wave up completing the major B wave of the
entire B correction from the March 2009 lows. Then,
presumably, resumption of the bear market with the final C down
wave.
If you could discuss that again that would be great.
Thanks a lot
Regarding John's situation: Well since lot of you already
gave good advice, I only have few words. I started with
Virtual Trading and learned a lot even though it is slow. I
learned to keep losses short and used trailing stops for the ones
giving profits. I also called for help by using different
brokers. I learned by doing all paper money (not real money)
for a while. Finally, I stopped loosing and started making
profits and got into real market (still very cautious).
Following are my recommendations to start with (I am sure there is
a lot more):
Review pre market gainers/losers (before market opens0 and
market trend (dow, nadaq, S&P, oil etc.).
Only trade money with 2-5% risk during learning, then trade more
once you are confident.
Charts: Always draw channels & look at mac D
etc. Use the mechanicals.
Have a plan for your exit & entry points) and keep an
eye on those charts or use automatic system (to keep emotions
out).

My guess would be a drop in volatility (vega I believe) _ With
this market rally the VIX is taking a hit so vega drops.
Could also be of course time-decay (Theta) - Check out the greeks
which are used in the option pricing model.
