The SPY Ver 2 and RSI 2 systems are scale-in systems so it will
never buy 100% on the first entry.
Matt - your post says "
SPY Pro system would take a long position at the close". My
understanding is that if one were to follow the system, only 40%
goes long at the close today. Can you confirm?
Posted by shinings on 13th of Nov 2014 at 02:52 pm
Matt, I remember in your SPY PRO system there's something called
an "exhaustion short" where price closes above 8 day MA for at
least 20 bars in a row along with %R indicator over 90%. If we
close above 8 day MA both today and tomorrow it will mark the 20th
day.
I know the current trade is long. If the above happens indeed,
does it mean that the current long will be closed and a new short
will be initiated per the system rules?
today's move of GDX has been strong so far and looks impulsive.
Great job on the RSI-2 system trade! However, can you tell us
whether the momentum indicator of the daily chart has turned green
or not? My understanding is the GDX RSI-2 system may hold the trade
longer if the momentum indicator turns green even if RSI
closes back above 80.
Does the XLE system enter short officially at the close today? I
see the close took out the low of 3/19 of $77.39 and the BPENER is
running below its 9 day EMA all along.
Matt, looks like yesterday $BPENER closed above its 9-day ema.
If today XLE closes above yesterday's high (which looks like it
will), is the system going to close its short and go long?
Thanks

Matt, is the GDX RSI 2 trade officially out today? It entered a
long per your email 2/20 last Wednesday and it was a nice gain in
the past 4 days. Today RSI 2 closed at 80.3 you said "If momentum
is red when the RSI 2 closes over 80%, the system will just
exit".

Matt, I trust you on the decision of closing this system and
just using the RSI 2 system instead. Is there a time frame when
that is going to be available, and what's the best way to access
that as clean and as straightforward as this one, i.e. clicking on
a tab and all the info is there?

By the way, i always know that this kind of system does best in
strong bull and bear market, while not so good in sideways market.
Unfortunately since launch, we have been in a sideways
(transitional) market (in longer time frame) hence the low
performance. If you look at shorter time frame, it was also at the
turning point from bull to bear that we experienced the biggest
loss for the system. Now, we may be in another transition from
bear to bull again, and i won't be surprised if the current trade
turns into a loss as well.
Am i second thinking the system? no. and i for sure could not
predict when sideways market is coming, so i let the system do its
thing. At the time i signed up, i already knew this
so i'm not emotional and won't blame the system.
Correct me if i'm wrong, Matt. I just want to know more about
the system.

Matt, it looks like SPY is creeping up today again. Can you let us know what can trigger SPY to exit its long position? such as close above 20MA?
I know closing the position means exiting the following day on the open, but I think we all are curious to know what's gonna happen next.
