That is the hope, of course. And I am putting some faith in it. But trying to be flexible in my views too, as is often preached here. Honestly, the bearishness here is probably good for me, as my fault is generally being too optimistic.

I've thought about that some too. Nobody plans to or wants to be a contrarian indicator, but at what point might excessive bearishness in the BPT community point to a potential turnaround rally?

The FANG acronym never made sense with two prominent A stocks. And now with FB worth only half a trillion and NFLX not even 9 digits, they've got to be eliminated. However with AAPL, GOOGL, AMZN and underappreciated old school MSFT all worth about $1.5T or more, I think what we are left with is . . . MAGA!

Also ZIM broke through 50 DMA resistance.

EQT is a related stock also doing well. I bought today and hope for some follow through.

Right. How can anybody trust them with the stand they took against protecting kids in Florida?

Sometimes when these lower quality stocks start to move, it's a sign that the end is coming.

Yeah, me too. WAY too early.

A surprising show of strength amidst a bearish engulfing candle in the semi indexes.

Right. More likely a 3rd entry on the pullback system.

Kind of hard to believe

Kind of hard to believe , especially the first data point, but according to IBD: "Alphabet's five-day losing streak is the longest since November 2019, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Nvidia slid 5.2%; its five-day drop is the largest since March 2020."  So much for the hype about GOOGL's stock split. Anyway hopefully a sign that an oversold bounce is coming.

Also possibly of note, if you are into the meme stocks - AMC seemed to find support at its 50 DMA after nearly getting cut in half from its brief peak. GME also finished positive today near its 20 DMA, but is only off ~25% from its peak.

AR has been the strongest

AR has been the strongest of the oil explorers, not closing below its 9 EMA for quite a while. My favorite of the little guys is EGY, also at a new high today.

I take it as a sign that the near term direction is not very predictable, but I'm not sure it makes sense to use SPX vehicles to hedge other SPX positions. I would rather try to buy relative strength and short relative weakness.  For instance I took another swing at YANG because China stocks look weak and may face headwinds from the new lockdowns around the country. I did take my first options trade based on BPT signals from the trend/pullback call yesterday, but cashed it in today for a nice 11% gain. Still more inclined to take the long signals than the short ones, but I wish I had acted on the DVDS short more aggressively and promptly a couple of days ago.

I think this is a pretty good looking breakout in VIVO.

5th change of direction since 11:00. More than usual after a Fed meeting. Hard to tell where it lands. I stopped out of TZA, but still hold some other shorts as a hedge against my longs - AFRM, ASAN, FSLY, FVRR.

Nice, I covered my short in NVAX around 70 today, obviously too early.

Probably not. They seem to trade in sync lately.

Also, after a few previous swings in FNGD, took my first stab at FNGU today as most of the FAANG stocks are looking constructive right now.

Thankful for a couple of sells last week in LITM and VTNR. Bought back into some VTNR and thinking about swapping back from LTHM to LITM if I am confident that LITM stabilizes.

As for what didn't work, stopped out of my CHWY short today.
