Nice!
Hang in there Matt

Thanks for another winner Ditch!!!
I re-did the calculations using the published single entry system data
results are from october 24 2006 to present
Shorting SPY = 115,825.1 profit
buying SH = 113,007.86 profit
and with Matt's comments re early exit, results should be even closer.
IMO even better than government work
a review of Matt's data shows that most of the money is made by SPY long so using an index fund that mirrors S&P should be addequate to make money. Not as much as the theoretical amount but still nothing to sneeze at
I don't have those dates. I must have used older data you published.
I have for that period of time time
Sell Short 5/12/10 $117.45 850 Sell Short 5/28/10 $109.37 910
I used daily data of SH from 10/24/06 to 11/22/10 and substituted SPY shorts with SH longs
I "sold" SH at end of day of signal to duplicate "covering" rules for SPY.
Results: SPY shorts resulted in 115,825.10 total profit
SH longs resulted in 111,668.04 total profit.
I think it good enough for "Government Work" (IMO)
Thanks for WNR Ditch I got in at 18.40 ( jd)
I caught a nice profit in Dig today..Thanks again
updates without problem
FAS AAPL etc does not download
After same problems with 8.6 I went back to 8.5 with less problems.
TS is memory hungry and having too many charts up will make the program freeze.
I have 1024 RAM on one computer and 2048 on another (for use in virtual PCs) running on Parallels Mac
one thing you can do is go to control panels- system and change virtual disk memory min and max settings or go to manual settings for max recomemded.
all this should work on 8.6 and 8.7
Where can you get such a great rate on a cash fund???

for simple moving average
use 90 and 360
for exponential trial and error with two charts next to each other would give you an approximation
