Is it possible to use a stop limit orderto buy a stock after the close if the earning are good and the price goes up?

I'm unsure of the meaning of that paragraph.

Does that mean the broker-dealers want the SPX to be way above 1150 so that they call the stock away at a lesser price than the market and they make a profit?

So they have a vested interest in manipulating the market as high as they can?

Does it pick up because it crosses a resistance?

A good signal for the market to go down?

Or a good signal for a bounce?

Was there anything to trade today if you weren't in a postition already?

The volume seemed low on the watch list items and some were up on a fast pop and then down?

I'm doing a lot of watching and uncertainty on getting in.  Any thoughts for a new trader?

I was watching CNTF and entered a position when the price crossed the 3.77 breakpoint on huge volume.  It then pulled back below the price I purchase it (3.84) and is now where I bought it.    Should I have waited for addition high volume bars before entering.  Any thoughts or advice for this newbie trader?
