Not really as ABX is distorting things as it by far makes up the
largest part of GDX. This morning ABX announced they were buying
another company for around $7b so count on ABX underperforming for
at least a few months - thus dragging down the GDX.
Also check out the following link as to why gold stocks have
been underperforming for quite a while, and why it will probably
continue.
