long SRS is a bad trade

SRS?

Posted by andreac on 5th of Mar 2010 at 02:57 pm

very bad trade in my opinion, it is now below the wedge, meaning it broke below the wedge, which negates the bullish wedge pattern

very typical for SRS, it's way over played by Wall Street, not a good race horse anymore in my opinion

My previous post about SRS leading was from June 15, so SRS has been leading for at least 2 weeks.  Watch the last 30 minutes of the day for SRS, and watch how SPX inversely follows it.  If SRS breaks down first, then SPX will break up.  Looks like homebuilders, REITS, and real estate are some of the mkt leaders now.  Finance and banks seem to be off cue, like maybe in a totally different ball game in a different ball field.  At least that has been my observation.

SRS is leading the train, watch it to see where SDS is headed with a short time delay.  See toggle.

What is going on with SRS

Posted by andreac on 29th of Jun 2009 at 10:43 am

it must have been a temporary bad data feed with Fidelity ATP, logged out and back in and it's fixed now, not showing those errors any more, that was weird though, gives a whole new meaning to market orders

I saw SRS tick 19 cents and then $7.93.  Low of day on Fidelity says minus $14.  SKF is ticking very low too.  What's up with that?

NEoWave Warns !!!!

Personally speaking, I don't trade very well when I am sick, (which is not very often), or when I am afraid (for whatever personal reason).  I sit out and give myself a pep talk or an attitude adjustment, whichever is needed, whether I like it or not.  Even a mild case of that flu is very traumatic.  Wishing you and your family a full and speedy recovery.

SRS and SKF

Christmas in July, I can handle it for sure.  My favorite 2 trades are finally coming back from the grave, finally.

SRS is leading this train south, and SKF seems to be the caboose.  Now why is that?  Any ideas?

Michael, per your request, here's your PM to me, copied to the blog......Thanks!!!

"andrea -- thanks for asking!  I have just totally procrastinated doing this, but now I will do it................we had a lot of power outages this past wintewr in my area of the norhteast..............the only way I know of to really address this problem, and at the same time let you feel secure in leaving your systems running while away or on vacation -- is this:  there's a place called Commercial Network Services and for $30 a month you can put your whole tradestation platform onto a virtual server that is always on, with 99.8 %.  You can open it on your home computer, or log on to it from anywhere.      I know sopmeone who has done it and says it works really well.  He also dais its a bit of a project to set it all up -- maybe a good day -- and I know how I am with that stuff, so I've been putting it off.   But if you're serious about trading systems I think its the thing to do."

mechanical systems - power loss

Posted by andreac on 15th of Jun 2009 at 10:13 am

How do you exit your mechanical trades when you lose power and phone lines?  Do you just call Trade Station on your cell phone and pay extra for the telephone trade?  Are there any special hardware tricks around this?

Where's Ravun

all those triangle wedges you draw look like slices of pizza and apple pie, well actually that channel that the wedge might be morphing into now is looking maybe like a Hershey's chocolate bar, it's making me very hungry .......................just a thought, or maybe your picture looks more like a water spout out of baby nessie's nose now. Fancy finger painting for sure, were you a painter before you started trading and racing cars???

and I mean truly studied one, intently, up close and personal ???

They always play ----stoooopid-----  but rest assured, they're not stupid.   The appropriate adjectives would be cunning, crafty, sly, deceitful.  They know exactly what they are doing, but under the pretense that they do not know how to fix the problem, as if they could not possibly fathom the concept.

Rumor has it that the missing money went to the PPT/Fed/puppet masters/GS to prop up the futures mkt, to buy up the notes.  How else have they been holding this mkt up since November????  Who else would want our US dollars, Chinadoesn't?  And, of course, all of this is just a wild conspiracy theory......of course.  So nevermind.  Our government has our best interest at heart, right????

thanks

yeah, long FAZ is way too fast for my blood, and it's not something I even like to trade, much less like to hold overnight.  It messes up the sleep.  It's only good for shorting if you want to sleep on it.

Well, as rp says, this wonderful system froze completely up yesterday from 3:59 to 4:00, and  I could not get out of the mechanical FAZ trade.  Just love it when that happens.  FAT Pro freezes up a lot when the overall activity gets very high.  Oh well, looks like I might get to book a gain today and be thankful, instead of a loss at the end of yesterday.

oh come on Ravun

Your most recent chart looks like it is in the process of ultimately forming a bearish head and shoulders or a triple top pattern.  Does it look like that to you?    If so, then what is your projected timeframe for completion of this pattern(s)?  Would you please draw that in, or whatever it is that you see, with you fancy fingerpainting and kindergarten math?   Love your charts!  Thanks.

mkt analysis

Posted by andreac on 30th of Apr 2009 at 09:30 pm

This mkt is starting to remind me of June, July and August of 2007, when it seemed to take forever for the bearish divergences on the MacD on all the indices to finally play out.  It looks like a bearish rounded top on the dailies. Anybody else seeing that?

along that line of thought, how about this one

(S)chwarzenegger (R)eally (Stinks)

or (S)limy (R)ancid (S)nails

or maybe escargot.  I've called that beast every name in the book, all depending on which side of the trade I'm on that day.
