sbaxman, As a loooong term swing trader, I really appreciate many of the charts that you post.

This is a similar snapshot, $XAU:$SPX. Although the miners have enjoyed a great run this year and are now getting overbought, I really like the long term look for swing traders.

One difference is that price is currently abovethe two MA's. In '01 and '08 price was belowthe MA's when they crossed.

Could this signal more chop? Great for you traders - but I prefer to focus on the long term.....

This looks great Matt. Even for a swing trader such as myself, a couple trades per month would be very intriguing.
