Another novice question for you experienced traders, how many
positions do you typically hold at one time? Diversification
is good and bad. Basically I am asking how you do your daily
or swing trade asset allocation. Or you do it by gut
feelings? Please advise. Thank you for all your advice
and I am humble to learn.
nd -- very individual -- look at rp -- he trades 300 or 400
positions at a time and amazingly can keep track of them all.
I find that I can hold ten or twelve swing positions (if we're in a
swing environment), right now I have five or six longs, and can
only deal with a few very short-term positions without making
myself crazy. So much in the market is correllated that for
daytrades I largely use the ETFs. If I want to be aggressive
I use a 2x or 3x ETF instead of looking for a big-move
stock. For me making larger bets in fewer positions works
better. But this is not statistical or even philosophical --
itsa just knowing more year by year what kind of trader I am.
