That said, this recent one was the 1st -1000 tick reading of the
day on the ES (TF has had 3 on the 15m chart) and both have had a
pretty good bounces from that reading.

I think this may be similar to -1000 tick readings - you can often fade the first one of the day, but repeats are more likely to have follow through.
