with your son. may he hit for the cycle this
weekend. I remember those days! I had four boys who played,
the three older ones were on the same team and they were pretty
athletic. With them I always had two great pitchers, a
fantastic catcher and a great shortstop...they made it easy on me,
i think my coaching percentage was in the high 80% if not
90%. My youngest hit for the cycle one time (after swimming
all day - go figure) and also started a triple play in a tournament
playing third base.
My oldest is his school's varsity catcher as a sophomore &
really improved this year. Great to see growth. Missed a homerun by
3' in his last playoff game.

My son Zach, who is the catcher in the family, his varsity
year we had a lot of rain outs one week so the following week we
had several games. He did not pitch much but maybe a couple
of innings in a few games that year. Coach told him that
later in the week he needed him to pitch a couple of innings.
Well one inning went by and the next, his curve ball was working
pretty good....next thing we knew he ended up pitching seven
innings. We ended up winning in extra innings 2-1 and it was
the turning point in the season as we ended up going to semi state
that year.
