parts of japan are going to be experiencing rolling blackouts
for 4 million people for some time to come, due to the nuc shut
down. 2 probably 3 reactors are destroyed (sea water used to
cool them), I believe there are 7 shut reactors?. which means
when the others that were shut reopen (only effected by quake not
tsunami) there will still be a power 'vacuum'. obviously some of
the power previously used won't be needed until areas are rebuilt,
but there are basic needs that required fulfillment. Russia
has already offered to increase lng and coal shipments. so which US
companies will benefit. nat gas exporters? coal exporters?
shippers? opportunity knocks, let's see whose there...
ideas/charts?
KOL,BTU & LNG All up nicely today and some of this may be
attributed to just what you are thinking. Also, I'm thinking
FCX,BHP with huge interest in Australia and the pacific for basic
materials will do well with the rebuilding. How about Honda
generators ?
they import raw everything, build it and export it out. what do
I notice the most in all of the vivid pictures of destruction.
floating debris; wood in particular..
