Just a heads up for those trading Canadian stocks....many chart
vendors may not show all the trades, as there is much trading on
alternative trading systems such as Alpha, Omega Chi-x and
Pure....for example I just confirmed with Stockcharts that they
only get their feed from the TSX, the exchange itself, and I know
when I did a trial with Telvent/Iqfeed using Multicharts, the data
only included TSX ...
....I think Alpha accounts for more than 20% of the actual
Canadian volume...esp on the higher cap stocks...Alpha is owned by
the big Canadian banks...on many of the higher volume stocks and
ETFs, Alpha accounts for often half the volume
....the result is more apparent on intraday charts...ya get alot
of flat body-less candles, etc...
...if anyone knows of data vendors that have Canadian data that
includes the alternative trading system...esp. Alpha, please do
tell!
