lp, I think that's the combo I'll go with for a new account.
I've been waffling between Multcharts and Ninja, but further
reading this weekend has me back on the Ninja bandwagon. Sounds
like they have a new release coming up right away too, which is a
bonus - assuming it's somewhat stable. Setting up these platforms
the way you want them can be so time consuming that it's tough to
try them all out.

Hi Cal1, I was thinking about TD for a TFSA account, so
it's good to hear you like them. I've got my RSP with Scotia, which
I was also thinking of moving somewhere. But, now they're planning
to convert to the new itrade platform sometime this year, so I'll
probably wait to see how that pans out.
Hi folks, I’m a relatively new subscriber – I signed up in Feb I
think, but I’d like to thank Matt and Steve for the work they put
into this site. No BS and excellent posters every day have quickly
made it a staple for my daily routine. It’s also inspired me to
upgrade my trading platform finally.
I’m looking at going with an Interactive Brokers /
Multicharts combo. IB seems to be pretty popular here, but I’m not
sure about Multicharts. The main reason I like it is because it
supports all the tradestation easylanguage code – which seems to be
the most powerful on the market right now. Also, I’m in Canada, so
tradestation is not an option for me, from what I can tell, and it
would probably cost significantly more over time anyway.
Two questions,
1) is anyone using Multcharts, and are you happy with it
overall?
2) will the IB data feed be sufficient, or is it advisable to
go with eSignal, IQFeed, or something similar?
I considered ninjatrader, cooltrades, buttontrader, etc. but
it seems like multicharts fits what I’m looking for the best and is
probably the most stable. But, I’m open to all suggestions, so if
anyone has time this weekend, I’d appreciate any advice and
recommendations you may have before I move forward. TIA
