In late September there was the cry of "Government Shutdown" with the media covering and counting down.  Now with the market up, not hearing a word from media on the next deadline of one week from now....unless this is really not a true issue anymore ?    Thoughts

Seems quite amazing how Demark's don't seem to mean much in this type of market ?

Up 6% in one week on the SPX.   Not sure I recall when we've seen such a move.

Just wondering what thoughts y’all have as to what’s causing this massive run-up ?   Used to be escalator up and elevator down.  Thinking only elevators these days.

Noting where the SPX low today was within a point or two of the 20 day on the monthly chart.   Wonder if this will hold for a while now ?

Steve, was wondering if you still feel like your daily chart back from 8/17th above is still valid ?   Appears we are now right at that 61.8 resistance level and also right at the bottom of that channel line you've drawn.   Any comments on this would be appreciated.    Thanks

Ok, Thanks Matts !!!     Have a great evening.

Matt, assuming Strap and QE3

Matt, assuming Strap and QE3 are both still open ?     Thanks !!

Great Points DigiNomad !!!!

I'll admit, that's something I've had a hard time with....those Pinocchio moves.     Whenever there's, say a support line, I'll try to place a stop several points below that support line, however quite often it executes and then reverses (bear trap).   Is there any general rule of thumb for placing stops to keep these Pinocchio traps from happening ?    Appreciate thoughts from anyone on this.      Many Thanks

Matt, can you post the tradingview link for this support/demand zone chart.   Looks like if we can get over that ES 4384 level, there's a big gap until around 4413, if I'm reading that correctly.    Thanks Matt !!!!

For individual stock shorts (or longs) like this I use a "zebra" option trade to eliminate the need to buy option premium.  For example for that GOOGL trade, at the time of the trade GOOGL was at 133.  So you could sell 1 put at a 133 strike and buy 2 ITM 135 puts.  The sold put premium would eliminate the premium paid for the 2 135 strike puts.   Seems like a descent strategy to serve the purpose of eliminating paying for premium.   The negative regards having to buy an add'l option.

Anyway, just wanted to share this and if anyone has any experience with these and would like to share their thoughts, please do so.   I certainly don't claim to be an options expert.      Thanks again Matt for working up this Volatility System for us with individual stocks !!!!
