I took a little Easter trip to Atlantic City this weekend. I
have to say that some of the US highways we took in PA & NJ
were in quite a state of disrepair, especially thru the Philly
area. I hope the FED's look to spend some of this cash on fixing
these arteries instead of "high speed rails". Some of these roads
were just built less than 20 years ago and should have held up much
better...
here's another off topic item, my property taxes went up!
How the heck can my city justify raising property taxes this year
with the drop in housing prices? They say that they need the
money, well then stop wasting so much money.
I am an appraiser (part time) in California. We have a
Prop 8 law that they have to reduce our taxes if the Prop 8
value falls below the Prop 13 value.
So many folks here are getting property tax cuts every year
now. We have to show 3 sold comps within 3 months of
the end of the year (oct 1 to april 1)
I have been doing lots of tax assessment comps and most of our
clients save money. You might want to check witht the assessors
office in your state to see what they base the changes
on. FinaM
