SNDK vs MU
One big difference between these 2 stocks that a TRADER should
really care about, is the float. Up or down it affects the % moves
when there is a lot of attention concentrated in a specific sector.
SNDK has 148m shares in the float, compared to MU having around
1.3B shares. This is why SNDK had such a huge run up compared to MU
in my opinion. When that demand gets hot, less shares are easier to
move. SNDK also approved $6B in share buy backs in April of this
year with no expiration. We will have more details this Wed after
the close when they report earnings. If I am positioning for the
next run up, I am going with the bigger percentage mover as a
trader. It does carry more risk and volatility though. Before
anyone gets upset reading this, MU is the BETTER COMPANY and way
more diversified hands down. They are not apples and apples with
what they offer(SNDK doesn't even offer or manufacture it's own
DRAM), but Bubba in Alabama doesn't know this. This is just a
comparison as a trader. When people hear the "memory" sector is hot
and just HAVE to have a piece of the pie, the lower float is gonna
move faster and farther majority of the time. This just depends on
your risk appetite. MU will move very well with the sector, this is
just comparing the two as a TRADER ONLY. Hope this is helpful to
some of you.
