Gold/Silver ratio- huge move this year going
from >100 to now under 75. Silver probably entering one of
those crazy periods like 2011; bulk of silver gains typically come
towards the end of an important top. The 20 year performance
of silver vs. gold also showing Silver is playing major catch-up
now.
I'm watching Silver tonight too, gold/silver ratio now at 65.
There's an interesting
chart that's been making the rounds on X and it's from a precious
metals bug website and posted by James Anderson from SD Bullion.
It shows the overnight silver price index and an intraday
silver price index (during USA trading hours). In looking at
this chart it is apparent that silver tends to peak when the red
line and the blue line converges. The only problem is that
the blue line is close to $400 and the red line is in the $60s
. So just with this chart alone, it tends to
favor the odds that there's more to go in the coming months
(years?). Besides that, silver just broke out of that 45 year
cup and handle that Matt has been showing. And you know the
adage, "the bigger the base, the higher in space."
And just for fun I made this Weekly chart showing how stretched
Silver can get. It has 36 Week Bollinger Bands and 200 Week
Bollinger Bands. I've marked instances in the past when the
200 Week bands cross above the 36 Week bands and things get wild.
The cross recently happened at silver price $47. Right
now the 4 std. deviation level is $77 on the 36 Week Bollinger
Bands (it tagged 4 std. deviations in 2020). The rate of
change (ROC) on that chart hints it can go higher.
One thing I know for certain is that the rally will be harder to
trade as volatility increases. I've attached the CBOE Silver
ETFVolatility index, which based on historical comparisons,
seems to show that the volatility can go higher. You've
probably read on X that there's a tug of war going on between
physical buyers vs. futures contract buyers. If things get
unruly there, backwardation, issues with the SLV ETF itself, and
things like that occur (backwardation occurred early October, the
Silver spot - SI futures chart) and that increases volatility,
along with big upward movements in price.
note: in my silver volatility chart, it should say "Volatility
was low this year..."
CBOE Silver
ETFVolatility index chart up 20% today. Also, my
Weekly Silver "goes crazy" chart showing $85 as 4 std. deviations above the 36 wma.
And ROC now at 55 (will it tag 70 soon?).
"US" Silver in backwardation in front & second month plus
the CBOE SLV volatility index up 30% yesterday, better to be in
PSLV than SLV in these crazy times
