Watching that $72 level on Silver, for me personally.

    This is my Silver spot

This is my Silver spot chart- there's a massive potential channel (the bottom of the channel began in Q1/2024 where arguably this whole run started) and goes up to around the $72 level--my charts often times aren't drawn in a classical TA sense (I ignored the April tariff flush) but since in this case that flag pole measures to $70-$72, the channel makes sense because that's where it converges (even though it has not been confirmed--not enough touches on the upside).

Silver hit my target of $70-$72 and we will see if this channel holds.  Personally I sold some silver just now.

    Silver futures on SHFE Shanghai

Posted by EricK on 26th of Dec 2025 at 01:08 am

Silver futures on SHFE Shanghai Futures Exchange is on TradingView using symbol AG1! - it is priced in Kilos so 18,433 / 32.1507 =  573.33 renminbi per oz, which is $81.82 USD per oz of Silver.  Crazy.  And the futures contracts on the SHFE are built to serve Chinese industry (physical delivery is normal) whereas the COMEX futures are more for rolling/hedges/speculation.

    Silver in China is still

Silver in China is still $85.  You can input AG1!/USDCNY/32.15 into Trading View to get the price in dollars.

It's not something that I follow regularly, but AFAIK silver, and to a lesser extent gold, has been trading at a premium in Shanghai already for a while.

    Silver and China.  On X

Posted by EricK on 25th of Dec 2025 at 10:53 pm

Silver and China.  On X (Twitter) we've been reading for years about how metals have been flowing from the West to Asia and how China has been gobbling up silver lately (and India)...there's also that export restriction/ban that supposed to take place on Jan. 1.  And with the Shanghai Gold Exchange now the largest precious metals exchange in the world by physical gold volume (I Just checked ChatGPT), China is dictating the price of silver also.  And maybe they are buying as much silver as possible from the LBMA/CME/other places to hoard silver now and lock in the price now that the US banks are no longer suppressing the price and silver finally broke the $50 boogeyman level.  But I have to think that China doesn't want silver to rise THAT fast because silver (unlike gold) is an important input cost into solar panels, electronic equipment, and things that they manufacture.  No one would really mind the Gold price going up because Gold is not really used as an input in manufacturing things, and that is why Gold is a perfect neutral reserve asset for the financial reset of global sovereign debt (similar to Bitcoin).  But then again maybe Silver really still is the cheapest asset on earth if you zoom out 45 years.
