one day will test that 50 area again, and eventually break it.
again long term play. trade around it, but I have long term
holdings in 100 oz bars, why physical?
I owned a lot of physical gold as well, someone asked me, why
not just the ETF's or futures?
here's why, it's not what you would think, the end of the world
prepper guys. It's a psychological thing:
when I own stocks and ETF's, it's too easy for me to sell them
with a click of the mouse, so even though I may intend to hold some
long term, many times I can't help it and sell because of
something shorter term on the chart
when I own physical bars, I have to
physically drive to the metals wholesaler - which is about a
3hr round trip for me. It's a pain in the ass and it forces
me to ONLY go if I'm near 100% certain. Because once I drive
there, take all that time, i can't just change my mind the next day
and go back. It forces me to keep a position for the bigger
macro trend I'm favoring, vs if it's electronic I can just sell it
on a whim. Does this make sense to you guys? anyway that
method has worked for me, whatever works for you

Same deal with me Matt. I bought 100 ounce bars when Silver was
between 14 and 16. Would have sold an ETF several times by now.
Bought 10 ounce bars of Platinum in March 2020, and every time the
cost plus premium was below 1000 dollars to accumulate 12 bars.
Expect at least 5 grand price per ounce by 2030 or so. Have PPLT in
my self employment pension fund and can trade around with that one,
and bought 1 Gold coins when Gold was around 1650. Have PALL in
Self employment pension fund as well. Store most of the physical
with Brinks in Oklahoma through APMEX. Just going to ignore
the price appreciation and let the pattern play out over time on
those.

Holding physical is good insurance.

Holding physical is good insurance. I like the coins because they will never need to be assessed, as bars may/will. Its been a great year for me.
