Platinum with the largest trade since inception arriving as a
dark pool sweep at this local high. 808K @ $10.91. The
previous #1 arrived at the same price on April 21, 2023.
yes the ribbon is really wide now on the daily for Platinum, but
if one had positioned heavily into Platinum weeks ago when it was
still in the coil or just started to breakout, one could keep their
'core' long-term position and give it plenty of room.
sure if you bought it yesterday as a short-term trade maybe you
take profits.
for me this is a long term hold, I can see this doubling in a
year or two. I bought a bunch of physical Platinum bars weeks ago
that I'll be holding.
again one has to define their strategy - is it for a trade, or a
long term hold
Also if you were not already in it, yes it's quite extended now
and even if I was long term I'd have trouble chasing it here and
would probably wait for a consolidation
this is why one must define their gold and strategy, it's
different for everyone
Several times a year I try to give you guys what I call
'strategic' long term ideas. I only see them a few times a
year, but when I see them I like to put them out - these are things
I see macro trend change possibilities where one can catch a long
term trend hold - not a short term swing trade.
I discussed this in Feb/March 2024 for gold and silver, which
clearly played out for gold - Silver initially but Silver still has
a long way to go IMO
And over the last few months on world markets EEM and EFA I
think have potential to outperform the US markets for a big macro
change
I think we need a simple section on the website for long term
strategic ideas won't be a lot of work because I may only see a few
of these a year
like gold, silver last Feb 2024, platinum palladium earlier
this year, EEM, EFA a couple months ago
a place basically for me to place long term strategic ideas
where I see potential macro trend changes - that's not intended for
a short-term trade but for those who are willing to try and
positing into the beginning of a macro trend cycle
no problem. We have all trade types here, day traders, swing
trades, future's traders, gold and crypto bugs, guys managing
401K's and longer term stuff.
not everyone can do short-term level to level stuff so that's
why I like to put out longer term strategic ideas for folks who
want to buy into something that they can possibly hold for a macro
trend, vs only short-term stuff
I've been pretty good over the years calling some of these.
Makes sense to have a dedicated spot because otherwise these
get lost in newsletters with the 50 to 70 other charts
I would also love that Matt! I've found since holding EEM, SPPP
and PALL I have not been nearly as stressed as when trying to trade
shorter term index moves.
