hello,
waited till after hours to ask as i did not want to
disturb anyone if they were busy trading during the regular session
but... could someone please instruct me on how to roll over
my /MES contracts? will i need to sell all my contracts
before tomorrow's close and then buy back the same amount of
contracts (the june contracts) once the futures reopen at 6pm this
coming sunday? also, i notice that /ES contracts tend to be
like 40-50 points higher right after the rollover. so does
that mean i will be losing a lot of money buying at a higher price?
forgive me for my ignorance, lol. never had to roll
over a contract before. thank you for your help!
Both the March and June Contracts are trading currently (you can
rollover now if you so choose and not wait until tomorrow).
You would simply sell the March and buy the June contract IF
that's in agreement with your outlook and plan.
I would caution anyone from trading futures/options
without a full understanding of such instruments as they deal
with substantial leverage. Please remain prudent.

please don't take this the wrong way but my "plan" is to trade
the system as i've been doing since being a member. if the system
alerts a buy then i buy. if it stops out then i sell, no
questions asked. i'm merely asking how to roll over a
contract because i've never done it before. i've been a
member here long enough to know to "trade your plan" but when it
comes to the system i'm just following it.
Yes and point taken, my only comment related to the specific
instruments employed to trade the systems. As long as you
fully understand the leverage involved with futures as your
questions below simply raised some concerns. Take care
