It's crazy the S&P 500 is not even 5% off the highs and I
can sense the fear in everyone. I'm not talking about here,
but like in the public.
I think it's 2 reasons:
1. People are so conditioned to every minor dip getting bought
over the past couple years
2. With all the DOGE and government Job cuts, Tariffs, all the
political stuff - there's a lot more uncertainty and people are
scared because of that
anyway here's the open SPY mean reversion systems. This is
pretty tame, there's one system in 2 entries and one system in 1
entry. In the past when the market has had deep corrections we've
seen 3 and 4 systems in trades sometimes 2 and 3 entries, so this
is pretty tame still. Now, if the market goes straight to
5600 then we'll see a case where quite a few mean reversion systems
are in trades. Of course, we could also see throw back rally
that allows for one of the systems to get out on a bounce
I made these comments to someone early this morning:
the market is weird here: SPX isn't even down 5% off the highs,
but it feels like 10 or 15% - I can feel the negativity in the air
- the fear here is really high. probably the case for 2
reasons: 1. the last 2 years people been used to buying every minor
dip and have recency bias. 2. Things feel more uncertain now
with all the Political environment: news landmines like new
retaliatory tariffs can pop up any time , DOGE cuts people worry
are going to quickly and could cause havoc, anyway just my
observation that this feels like a lot more than 5% because of
everything LOL. I even had friends and family call me who never
call me about the market all concerned - they would normally only
call after 20% decline or more
