I can't find option on this. Is that correct? They need to
apply for options ASAP in order to get the degens involved. I was
looking to do my part to start a gamma squeeze on this sucker, but
looks like it's not an option yet (pun intended).
AZ market maker keeping spreads really tight considering how
little volume it has, but he/she is also QUICK to run away from a
bid. If you don't hit the ask, it will jump 5 cents (5 cents is
meaningful on a $2 dollar underlying)
I'm sure they would! But can the IP be protected? Smart
carte seems like a pretty simple thing in today's tech landscape.
They've been proposing different ideas about smart shopping for
decades now (NFC labels, etc, etc). To me I'm more surprised it's
not a reality already than the idea that it may happen soon. I can
set my stuff down at circle K all at once and check out without
scanning, but I can't do it at a grocery store? Weird.
Anyway, I took the bait and hit the ask. I'm come along for
the ride (very small size)
The real money is not simple scanning - it will be Retail Media
(imagine monetizing your customers) . I will organize a
conference call so that all can learn now that it's finally nearing
an inflection point (less speculative now). Prior to that
make sure you visit their Twitter page (Customate) and see all the
testimonials and other stuff for starters. To make proper
decisions, one should kick the tires. Coupons, promotions
etc will pop on your screen while your in the aisle of a product
seller - what would an advertiser pay versus some click shit on
Google or any other ads. So many uses but for years the
product was expensive and flawed until one small Israli company
changed the dynamics. In the future, smartcarts will be
common place IMO versus status quo self scan which only shifts
labor to the consumer and is fraught with issues. Stay
tuned.
You might have to move to Mexico. The AFL-CIO already
fighting against self checkout...these would probably send them
into a rabid frenzy (but a really generous bribe could possibly get
the job done).
No kidding - just to not wait in the checkout line (not to
mention all the other benefits) I will attempt to arrange a
conference call for next week after hours so you guys can really
learn about what's unfolding in the industry and the company for
those interested. It will be well worth your time to gain
some insights PRIOR to this smartcart concept going
mainstream.
This informative call with Cutomate has been confirmed for
Wednesday at 4:15 EST. Will share Zoom link prior.
As stated earlier this year (see my extensive warning comments
at that time) following the visit to see the product debuted at the
Javitts Center, the product was impressive but there were still
refinements necessary and relationships/partners that needed to be
formalized for deployment and support such as IR2S, Level 10, and
most recently Trixo. These are all leading IT firms (known as
integrators) that have established relationships with leading
retailers in their respective markets. In addition, a
payment platform was required as well as financing on several
fronts (see Nayax deals announced and subsequent corporate
financings including kast week's bought deal at market
price). For disclosure, I have participated in most (not all)
of AZ financings over the past 4 plus years with some higher and
lower than current price. Early stage and speculation on my part
leading to good and bad days over the past few years but I
maintained my belief and hopefully it is full
filled.
Finally, at least some retailers themselves had to
take the necessary time to review all the various choices and
conduct extensive due diligence to make a decision to commit cap ex
to smartcarts being deployed beginning primarily in 2025. Well, I
think that inflection point is now on the horizon. The carts were
deployed and customer feedback shown in France at Franprix
and Monoprix is overwhelming positive (see Customate Twitter page).
Some major retailers are warming up to smartcarts (specifically
Customate) as you will hear on Wednesday and in the coming
weeks/months. It will be well worth your time to listen and
learn about this disruptive product even if not choosing to be an
investor. Write down questions and take notes.

What's interesting is IBD's description of the company -
"Canadian-based Co that provides military-grade solutions to the
military/security markets," I gather that's not their main focus
any more.
Correct - I suggest you visit the company website and especially
their twitter page. Wednesday will be informative and open
to any questions. Link below
Nayax Solutions is the payment hardware and software provider
and the integrators like IR2S, Level 10, and Trixo are partners who
deal with existing grocers for support and rollout.
The Cirlcle K scanners still wow me even though they've been
around for a while. It feels weird to drop a bunch of stuff onto a
pad and have it instantly ready to take payment.
