its a play on words, fact-Cheka. The Cheka was the
Russian Bolshevik Secret Police, they did the censorship back in
the day. Parallels to modern day "fact checkers"....Oh I
pasted in the wrong place, was supposed to go to comments on AI
ChatGPT, and how I am now the fact checker for the AI, LOL, sorry.
Modern day Bolsheviks are on my mind. They held power in
Russia until 1989, or 70 years.

I get it. Wish I didn't agree. It's horrifying to watch it all
play out and the team that maybe thinks they are always going to be
on the winning side of it has to see it but cheers it on anyway
probably because they feel supported. Unfortunately, it never
ends well for anyone but a very very small group of
elites.
Yep, it could be decades of horror for USA, and maybe with the
internet, Social Media, spying, and phones....maybe the jack boot
never comes off our throats.
Note to self: Good job on telling Japanese Wifey to
convert everything to Yen around 160
Second note: remember to get Spousal Visa so living in Japan is
an easy enough option.

It's not like Japan is more free...not by a long shot....but
something about living in a foreign country makes it all very
distant and really hard to follow...to the point where I normally
don't. It's very freeing because they also don't follow American
news and politics closely (I always used to get a kick out of new
American expats that found it shocking how little news about
America they got unless they tried really hard...Americans think
they are the center of the universe).
Sometimes you get hit with "oh shit, I'm not in Kansas
anymore. I was the senior civilian in a joint military exercise in
Thailand, 2014 when the Thai military launched a coup. Needless to
say, it didn't look good that we were currently operating with the
Thai military and all hell broke loose for a couple of days.
But I was back there like a month later on vacation. Was the
coup over? Nope, but it's different when it's their politics and
not yours. Hard to explain unless you've experienced the expat
life.

Get off the fat jokes! (equivalent to CNBC producers losing their minds anyone mentions MO)
Mel Brooks saw it all coming. Gotta love comedy. Haha.
