if we wanted to crowdfund your system development, what are
likely individual contributions for a couple of systems what could
bring a steady stream of income? My assumptions are 1. about 100
contributors, 2. a handful of subsystems trading micro futures
contracts (with a $10K account requirement), 3. text notifications,
4. a shared account to monitor trades in real time for those who
want that, 5. a professional trading platform (not Tradestation),
perhaps CGQ or similar. Bare minimum but reliable to ensure
expected performance.
I could do the technical part. Unfortunately, the business side
is not my forte.
Please, kindly let me know. Many thanks in advance!
LOL yeah I don't need crowd funding. some of these intra day
systems such as 60 min etc, what could be done there is partner
with this broker I had a relationship with in the past - who's
business is to trade systems for other, there's a whole
subscription service based around that. I'd add the systems to
there, folks would open a brokerage account and the systems would
be auto traded for them. Not sure I wish to go that route -
but that's what some others have done with intra day systems
because logistically one cannot communicate in a timely fashion
system trades from 60 min, 15 min charts and have folks see them in
time to execute them properly - it has to be be executed
automatically in folks accounts.
vasilboy what elephant in the room? There's nothing wrong with
the mean reversion systems - they they just wen through a year with
120 trades, it's normal for for them to go through a lull after
that. There's plenty of other systems here and trade ideas. As
you've stated you trade on your own, but you can use us for ideas,
and other systems, and again the systems will come back to life,
there's nothing wrong with them, you are overly obsessing about it.
Use BPT as a resource for ideas and education, systems trades
will come over time, and it's not like we are charging an arm and a
leg - one system trade would pay for the damn membership, it's not
like you are way down on money because the reversion to mean
systems have done fewer trades this year
and this year the SPY and ES reversion to mean systems have done
about 17 trades, if they do 30 or 40 a year that's fine. In
most years they do 1 - 3 a month at most
Matt, i remember Chris Moore's tradefloor setup. It was ended
before our accounts could grow significantly though. As I recall
there was regulatory issue that killed that deal. Nowadays, with an
API setup the same automated trading can be done in IB accounts
held in our own name. The risk is, of course, that a whale could
sign up for this service and make it unworkable.
And while we are on the subject of automated trading, could you
add signal feed with trades based on some of your systems, as a
pilot? Format could be something like: Shallow PB1 buy 1 MES price
4125 limit 4130 stop 4100 to OPEN, etc.
Matt, if we wanted to crowdfund

Why would you want to crowdfund somehing like this. It should fund itself if it worked...
vasilboy, I don't disagree with

vasilboy, I don't disagree with you: this year the market was one reversion to the mean after another, up and down.
