Work finally paid off?
The last 12 years since I graduated with a degree in finance,
minor in econ and CFP would make any rational person question the
value of that academic pursuit. I mean, it's great knowing things,
but making a difference is what I always wanted to do when I
started out. This finally feels right. I can analyze and make
decisions without worrying about the Central Bank blowing up my
thesis and making me look like a fool.
All the trash talk about what a waste of money it is to hire
an FA may be coming to an end. Not ready to call it a victory yet,
but it's looking good for the rational analysts among us.
Thanks for sharing your expertise, DigiNomad! We really have an
eclectic group here, many with years of experience in the field
and/or areas of special interest and specialization. I am just a
medical doctor still making amateur mistakes in trading, but
learning from all of you!

It is a great group! Glad to have a Doc around also. Maybe give
us some heads up on can't miss biotech names? 😋
I left Navy Spec Ops at 28 and spent 2 years in pre med.
Loved it. Love chem, bio,physiology, etc...but I hit 30 year old
(felt like 80 because I was surrounded by people in their early
20s) and randomly met someone that was like 6 years into the
med school / intern process and getting smoked in term of
work/life balance. I'm not typically aquitterr but that was a
trigger for me. I bailed the med path and switched over to
business. All good though! I'm definitely passionate about what I
do these days.
