example of emails I get

Posted by matt on 7th of Sep 2022 at 06:16 pm

here's an email that came in: I hate these because I don't have an easy way to send that stuff over, takes a bunch of time taking a bunch of screenshots and writing a bunch of stuff, and many times they won't sign up anyway.  The problem with having to write a long email is that I find it's not efficient, folks don't understand and it ends up being a big waste of time for both parties. , which is why I'll probably just send him the trades for this year and offer him a personal Zoom meeting where I can bring him onto my computer show him systems, and answer his questions in real time. I should have him contact a few of you guys LOL

"I’m very interested in your Trading Systems but require some data to evaluate them. Can you please provide a summary of your performance results for ALL of your various Trading Systems along with maximum drawdown since inception. I don’t want to leaf thru pages of trades though to get the performance results. Thank-you, Phil"

    We appreciate how busy you

We appreciate how busy you guys are.  I don't think there is anyone out there that provides as much useful as you guys do.

Perhaps you could record a video going over the stats etc.  I am sure it would be excellent material for the YouTube channel aswell.

You could also host a Zoom call where you take questions and then record that session for future newbies.

    Lol. "No, but thanks for

Lol. "No, but thanks for your interest" is an acceptable answer

    I don't trade the systems,

Posted by brophy on 7th of Sep 2022 at 09:06 pm

I don't trade the systems, but I know you keep track of your trades very well, Matt. I've seen your stats. Send him what you've got. Not sure I see the objection to the question. Seems perfectly logical. Show him the results as you post to us all the time. Maybe I'm missing something.

    his question is not unreasonable

Posted by matt on 7th of Sep 2022 at 09:22 pm

his question is not unreasonable obviously, I just dont' have that data readily in an easy way to send. The stats are behind the pay wall, he wants me to send stats for all the 21 systems for both SPY and ES, which I don't have saved in one spot, it's a lot of busy work for me to go and manually take snagit screenshots of them all, then attach 40 images, then write paragraphs of text that may be misunderstood.

that's why instead I offered him a personal phone call and Zoom meeting  as it's more efficient for both parties, I can show him the systems and discuss them in real time and he can ask me questions in real time - that's far better than me spending an hr on an email that he probably wouldn't fully understand anyway

    Zoom calls etc? Sounds like

Zoom calls etc? Sounds like too much work to me. Offer a free trial as a way to go and be done with it.

    Maybe give him a password

Posted by timebandit on 7th of Sep 2022 at 10:03 pm

Maybe give him a password that gets him behind the paywall for a week? But I get your point. Still, you'll probably spend 30 minutes or an hour with him on a zoom call that you could be spending with your family instead. It's obviously your call, man.

Whatever you do, record the zoom call and then jot down the questions, which you can use to either help you create a video on the systems or a systems FAQ

    honestly and it's a gut

Posted by matt on 7th of Sep 2022 at 10:38 pm

honestly and it's a gut feel from doing these emails over so many years. The odds are that he won't reply to my email or offer of a phone call. 8 times out of 10, I'll respond to those guys and not hear back. Which is why I stopped trying to write vast detailed emails with a bunch of data because most of the time it ended up being wasted effort.

also one of you suggested sending him a password - again there's a free trial, the can take the trial.

    LOL just as I expected,

Posted by matt on 9th of Sep 2022 at 11:17 am

LOL just as I expected, told you guys, that guy who I shared the email with, never replied, I sent him 2 emails as well and offered him a personal phone call to answer his questions- like I said, on the surface what he asked for isn't unreasonable, but I'm telling you from 15 years of emails - 9 times out of 10 when someone writes in with questions like that (sort of looking for perfection), I've learned over the years not to spend too much time with emails because majority of the time they won't even respond back - you end up wasting a lot of time for nothing and is why it's best not to spend an hr on some big email -best to spend that time on other things, and instead offer a phone call which is more personal and they would get 10 times more out of it than an email ever could.

should we have a polished page that isn't password protected that shows all detailed stats etc, yes, but we don't - we spend too much time on systems and analysis, never seems like I have time to do that. But, unlike most sites we offer our phone number and talk with folks - you can't do that with most sites like ours. Anyway just saying the guy as I suspected didn't even respond back, which is what I thought would happen

    Yup, he's looking for that

Yup, he's looking for that crystal ball with no risk and the guaranteed win rate. I think that's called a savings account earning you 1% yearly.

    There is plenty of information

There is plenty of information available to make a decision on trying the service for 6 months. As you noted, there is a free trial as well.

Before I became a member years ago, I watched the free videos that you put out on occasion and finally took the trial membership. I would also agree that there is a high percentage chance that you wouldn't hear back from someone like this because they are likely evaluating multiple services, bouncing between strategies, and uncertain about most things in trading, and life. At some point one has to stick to a program or strategy to see results. That may happen at some point if someone has enough pain to try things differently, though it can be a very long time before rock bottom comes, subpar results, or the learning curve catches up.

99% of people would do well to take advice from others who have a lot more experience and results to back it up. That is what you guys offer here..education, mentorship, and systems to help someone who doesn't know how to trade and/or want to figure it out. All one needs to do is follow the alerts. So even for the person that wants to be told what to do, that happens through the systems here.

And the fact that you and Steve trade along in the community most days with us, there is everything needed here to succeed.

    You work really hard Matt

You work really hard Matt & Steve. Sometimes I just don’t understand how you guys can even do so much extensive work for such a reasonable fee.

    It's not unreasonable. But as

Posted by DigiNomad on 7th of Sep 2022 at 09:24 pm

It's not unreasonable. But as a small business owner in this industry also, for me it's all about avoiding "death by a thousand paper cuts." All the small stuff adds up!

    Does he want to see

Posted by simple_million on 7th of Sep 2022 at 08:36 pm

Does he want to see a resume and a list of references too?   Lol  I would just put whatever information you want the public to have on your website.  That's where you advertise, not in some personal interview  or lengthy email you have to set aside extra time for.
