Matt in your educational video on reversion to mean setups, can
you define what you mean by "wide MACD/BB"? Is this just
bollinger bands on top of MACD? I'm not sure how to tell when its
"wide", thanks!
MACD/BB is an indicator combination with the MACD and Bollinger
Bands - something I dont' really use anymore. Otherwise you might
be referring to when I discuss the wide moving average ribbons or a
wide MACD, or wide Bollinger Bands. But most of the time when
I discuss super wide, I'm referring to the moving average
ribbon
here's one of the scans I look to find those - you can put that
into
Stockcharts.com. Remember with
scans you have to look at each setup - most of the results will be
crap in most scans and you hope to find 1 or 2 good ones - this
scan looks for setups where the CCI has spiked below -250 and
has worked higher with prices declining i.e. a divergence - also it
looks for stocks that have a doji candlestick
[type = stock] AND [country = US] AND [Daily SMA(60,Daily
Volume) > 100000] AND [Daily SMA(60,Daily Close) > 5] AND
[Daily Close < Daily EMA(9,Daily Close) * 0.95] AND [Daily
EMA(9,Daily Close) < 20 days ago Daily EMA(9,Daily Close)] AND
[Daily RSI(5,Daily Close) < 30] AND [Daily EMA(9,Daily Close)
< 30 days ago Daily EMA(9,Daily Close)] AND [Daily Close <=
Daily Open * 1.01] AND [Daily Close >= Daily Open * 0.985] AND
[Daily CCI(14) > Yesterday's Daily CCI(14)] AND [Daily CCI(14)
> 2 days ago Daily CCI(14)] AND [[10 days ago Daily CCI(14) <
-250] OR [9 days ago Daily CCI(14) < -250] OR [8 days ago Daily
CCI(14) < -250] OR [7 days ago Daily CCI(14) < -250] OR [6
days ago Daily CCI(14) < -250] OR [5 days ago Daily CCI(14) <
-250] OR [4 days ago Daily CCI(14) < -250] OR [3 days ago Daily
CCI(14) < -250] OR [2 days ago Daily CCI(14) <
-250]]
SLVM showing up on that scan today stands out at moment- again
closing is what matters.
remember with those CCI bungie setups you need to be disciplined
- trade entries are high of dojis with stops at low. Also - one of
my filters is looking at a 60 or 120 min chart -I require that I
see a MAC divergence on those time frames - if I don't see a MACD
divergence on a 60 min then most of the time the setup is not
ready.
the daily setup is good for the next day - if it doesn't
trigger, then no trade
this educational page shows a variety of these setups - and I
show 60 min time frames with some of those daily charts in order to
show that divergence or wedge you want to see
