also adding to that point - know that folks like Heiken
Ashi charts - and I agree they look clean - but like Renko charts,
you LOSE something. whenever you smooth charts are you lose
potential accuracy from the candlesticks themselves that can be
used as tight triggers at times - like doji candlesticks where you
can place tight buy stop and sell orders from sometimes a few cents
from the candlestick doji high and lows - that all gets smoothed
out and you can no longer place pin point buy and sell orders based
on those because the 'smoothing' gets rid of them.
so as much as I like the smooth look of Heiken Ashi or Renko - I
don't use them for triggers, I call them - 'deceptively attractive'
they look like they would be great for trading but in reality most
of the time they are not because of what you lose from the
smoothing which translates to not ideal entries and exits
