question about symmetry...
would the low of 119.41 hold for SE since the previous counter
rally broke symmetry? or was the higher low of 127.08 that was
formed on monday it? trying to understand the nuances of
using symmetry for my trading. thanks!
regarding symmetry - SE technically broke symmetry on that first
rally and then formed a higher low - so that symmetry played out
with a higher low. also if a stock has had a large relative
price percentage move in that trend, I'll use a log chart at times.
the sym break is more obvious via the log, but even on a
linear chart it did slightly break sym on that first move off the
lows, and a higher low wave b was made. the symmetry break occurred
during a wave 4 only not end to the total downtrend
now the move up was simple a 3 wave zig zag - maybe a wave
4.
some other things: sometimes your lower high doesn't result in
another high, just a bounce area
secondly, your 4th waves can break symmetry and not end that
overall main trend because they are 4th waves. That 4th wave then
becomes the real important measure for the downtrend.
Otherwise what happens most of the time is that you'll get a
break in symmetry on the first move wave A, then form a slight
higher low and one small push up
