I've used free and paid versions of stockcharts; I don't believe
there's a way to save templates with the free version (except
during a free trial period). A better free site, imo, is
TradingView. I have the paid version which enables a larger
number of indicators, but the free version is feature-rich and does
save the chart layouts (and applies to new tickers as well).

Stockcharts - to save your indicator settings you save the chart
you have made using "Chartstyle" (line below the chart
) use the "Add New" options and provide your own title.
You can then select the chart style and it will be applied,
i.e. if you open a BPT chart link you can then select your
chartstytle and it will be applied. for the active symbol.
Alternate is the save your chart style as the "Default"
the default is used for all initial chart opened from links.
